Role Overview

Responsible for leading all aspects of the boutique's strategic vision for the Vancouver market, including client experience, talent development, sales strategy, operational excellence, and merchandise/visual merchandising.

The Boutique Director is an Ambassador of the maison, responsible for championing Delvaux with clients and partners. Accountable to sales and CRM objectives, fostering team collaboration and culture, achieving operations and merchandising standards.

  • Other tasks and duties as requested by manager.

Brand advocate

  • Actively expands the notoriety of Delvaux within Vancouver and the broader Canadian market

  • Embodies Delvaux in the local market and when hosting clients abroad

  • Builds and nurtures a network that has impact on the local, national and international luxury business in order to promote customer loyalty and deepen client relationships

  • Promotes the culture of the brand internally and externally

  • Ensures the boutique atmosphere transmits Delvaux’s values and brand image

Team Development

  • Attracts, develops and retains best-in-class talent

  • Inspires and motivates team with consistency to maintain high morale and achieve results

  • Creates development plans for sales team and supervisors

  • Sets individual objectives and ensures team is well equipped, trained and aligned in strategic vision

  • Prioritizes monthly touch-bases, midterm evaluations and yearly formal evaluations

  • Provides strategy for team, upholds company policies, orchestrates change as needed, in compliance with Canadian labour laws and employment standards.

Business Development

  • Develop boutique business plan to include clienteling and marketing strategies that drive client engagement and continues to grow the customer base with particular emphasis on local clients

  • Maintain a keen awareness of market trends and competition

  • Introduce business proposals that offer the potential to increase sales and market share

Sales Management

  • Continuously motivate and coach sales advisors to meet individual sales & productivity goals. Provide recognition for top sales advisors and high contributors

  • Demonstrate sales leadership for team by playing an active role in client engagement

  • Proactively manage the CRM strategy and clienteling function in the store

  • Ensure all team members are knowledgeable of all company products, company information and heritage

  • Ensure employees are provided with timely product knowledge to ensure strong collection launch and pre-sell results, as well as effective styling across all categories

  • Provide feedback on product assortment, buying trends and customer requests

Operations

  • Effective utilization of POS system and its inventory management functions

  • Provide daily, weekly, monthly qualitative and quantitative business reports as required by the CEO

  • Determine staffing needs and create staff schedules to ensure appropriate store coverage

  • Complete all store administration in an accurate and timely fashion

  • Profit and Loss responsibility for the store, with particular attention given to controllable expenses, sales plan and operating profit

  • Ensure compliance with all internal control procedures: maintain inventory accuracy

  • Maintain the highest standard of housekeeping and organization both on and off the sales floor

  • Perform other projects, as assigned

Customer Service

  • Ensure the highest level of customer service with consistency through the selling ceremony

  • Support sales associates with After Sales Service issues, i.e. return, defective merchandise, repairs

Store Visuals

  • Maintain visual merchandising standards and store environment as set forth by corporate visual department

  • Work with local VM freelancer(s) in partnership with HQ to achieve goals of impactful window installation and displays

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years’ prior Store Leadership experience. Luxury sector preferred

  • Entrepreneur with experience of people management, coaching a team to build a high-performance culture – leader, dedicated to support and develop the team

  • Operationally strong, able to translate strategies into operational plans

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build relationships across all levels of the organization

  • Commercially Minded with an extensive understanding of the Luxury Market with a strong background within Client Development and recruitment

  • Bilingualism (English and French) is a strong asset, particularly for roles in Quebec or other bilingual regions.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • SAP and Concur
